Havukka Hideaway – Koiraystävän metsätila is located at Ukuranperäntie 276, 91980 Lumijoki. The distance to the forest farm is 43 km from the center of Oulu and 42 km from Raahe. The driving time from both directions is approximately 30 minutes. When arriving via the E8 highway, you can access the forest farm via two different dirt roads, Luruntie and the Betonitukku intersection, but please note that the condition of the smaller roads may vary depending on the weather conditions.

When arriving from the direction of the village of Lumijoki, turn onto Ukuranperäntie and continue on the road for a couple of kilometers, after which the forest farm road sign will be visible on the left. When arriving from the direction of Ukuranperäntie, the road sign will be visible on the right. Turn off onto the forest road, the distance from here to the forest farm is 400 meters. The forest farm can park from 1 to 4 cars.

  • You can only visit the forest farm by reserving it for your own use. You can conveniently make a reservation through our online store and all popular online payment methods are accepted. A booking confirmation will always be sent to your email after a successful reservation. Please note that reservations are binding and unused reservations are non-refundable. Discount code reservations and gift cards cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Otherwise, you can cancel all reservations 24 hours before the start of the reservation.   • The forest farm can be reached by car from the gate all the way to the destination and there is parking for 1-4 cars. The gate is 3 meters wide and there is no height limit, you can also stay overnight at the forest farm in your own camping car. Find out more about the service packages HERE.

  • You will receive the key code via email/text message approximately one hour before the start of your reservation, please remember to also check your spam. Please note that there are separate key boxes for the sauna and the log cabin. More detailed instructions for opening the gate can be found at the entrance.

  • Arrive and leave the forest on time. Everyone is allocated 10 minutes of arrival and  departure time. You can arrive at the gate no more than 10 minutes before the start of the reservation and must leave the forest within 10 minutes of the end of the reservation. This ensures that everyone can spend the entire reserved time in the forest in peace.

  • Everyone is responsible for their own safety and that of their pets. Havukka Hideaway is not responsible for any accidents or damage that may occur in the area.

  • All the floors of the buildings are protected with netting to prevent the dog from getting under them.

  • The net is a 2-meter-high dog net, partially embedded at the bottom or secured with tree trunks. The mesh width of the net at the bottom is 7.5 cm x 7.6 cm and at the top 7.5 cm x 15 cm.

  • Digging next to a fence or on a forest road is not allowed; cover any holes carefully.

  • There may always be snakes, ticks or other small animals in the forest. The first aid kit is located in the lean-to and includes tick tweezers.

  • You can find important contact information for the area on the notice board.

  • It is prohibited to make an open fire anywhere other than at the campfire site and smoking is only allowed in the designated area.

  • The campfire is the visitor’s responsibility and the current wildfire warning must be followed; during a wildfire warning, it is strictly prohibited to make open fires.

  • The guest is responsible for ensuring that the forest farm, lean-to, and other buildings are left in a clean condition so that the next guest can also enjoy their visit to the forest farm.

  • The forest farm has no electricity and no running water. The area has seasonal lights and candles to create atmospheric lighting, as well as LED lanterns for visitors to use. Please bring your own headlamp when it gets dark.

  • During the summer season, rainwater is collected to provide drinking water for the dogs. A water container is available for sauna users and overnight guests. Please note that drinking water must be brought with you.

  • Dog waste is collected in waste containers; only waste in dog poop bags is placed in the waste container at the lean-to.

  • The supplies and movables of the forest farm are freely available to visitors, they are the property of Havukka Hideaway, please do not take anything with you. We want to offer a well-equipped forest farm for visitors to use.

  • Lighting a campfire is not allowed for bookings of less than 1.5 hours

  • Use wood in moderation, don’t make big fires unnecessarily. Don’t leave a big fire/emblem wFor safety reasons, the lean-to has a fire blanket, a hand-held fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.hen you leave or use water to put out the campfire.

  • The campfire is the visitor’s responsibility and the current wildfire warning must be followed; during a wildfire warning, it is strictly prohibited to make open fires.

  • The lean-to also has a gas grill for use during the summer season.

  • The supplies in the lean-to are freely available to visitors. The equipment may vary depending on the season.

  • The lean-on has various supplies for guests to use; a grid, a soot and campfire pan, a knife, grill tongs and 6 grill sticks, also seat pads and fleece blankets. The supplies box contains matches, tea, paper cups and plates.

  • For safety reasons, the lean-to has a fire blanket, a hand-held fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.

  • At the Hobby rental there is hobby equipment and hiking gear for guests to borrow. It is free for visitors to the forest farm to use, and borrowed equipment and gear must be returned after use.

  • The Hobby rental is located at the end of the red cottage.

  • The Hobby rental has a variety of toys and equipment, such as large and small balls, frisbees, low and high cones, bars, etc., as well as hammocks and yard games.

  • Hobby equipment can be borrowed during your visit at no additional charge.

  • Hiking equipment is available for rent as an additional service with the Hideaway Package 16h and the Log Cabin Package 18h.

  • The sleeping bag set for two includes a three-season sleeping bag, sleeping pad and hammocks with mosquito nets for overnight stays.

  • Equipment are the property of Havukka Hideaway, please do not take anything with you. We want to provide a well-equipped forest farm for visitors to use.

     

  • Please note that there are separate key codes for the entrance gate, sauna and log cabin.

Wooden sauna

  • Wooden sauna and changing room, size approx. 10 m2

  • The sauna can accommodate 4 people at the same time

  • Wooden sauna with water tank + 80L of bath water

  • Detergents and bench cloths

  • Washing is traditionally done by pouring water from a bucket with a ladle.

  • The visitor is responsible for heating the sauna and final cleaning, the sauna heating time is approx. half an hour.

  • More detailed instructions for final cleaning of the sauna can also be found on the wall of the changing room; Rinse the benches and sweep the floors, put the trash in the trash and take away the empty ones and bottles/cans.

The Log cabin

  • Approximately 40 m2 + loft

  • Sleeping accommodations for six, pillows and blankets

  • A spare fireplace and stove

  • The customer is responsible for final cleaning and brings their own linen/sleeping bags

  • More detailed instructions for final cleaning of the log cabin can also be found on the wall in the entrance of the cabin; Move items to their original places, wipe down table surfaces, sweep floors, and take empty bottles/cans away and take the trash to the trash can in the lean-to. Take any food you bring with you or to the trash can in the lean-to.
